Joy Meijers-Markus owns and runs Meijers Taaltrainingen. Joy is originally from Switzerland and brought up speaking German and English. She studied at Zurich university and took a degree in Russian and English language and literature. As part of her degree course she studied for a year in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
Joy has lived in Amsterdam since 1997. Her international background has given her great insight into the challenges faced by those learning a foreign language. Joy also has experience as interpreter and translator. She has worked as an IT support-coordinator and has almost seven years of experience working with asylum seekers.
